Addiction is a very real problem that many people suffer from each year. Drug and alcohol addiction is a disease which can create a negative domino effect in your life. This can lead to job loss, relationship issues and financial troubles.

It can also wreak havoc on your physical and mental health. Causes and triggers are often found in our life choices and may limit our social and professional opportunities and perspectives. That is why rehab is the chosen method for removing addiction from your life.

What is Rehab?

Rehab combines a comprehensive treatment plan in a private residential setting, which allows you to detox and removes addiction from your life. The range of therapies that are offered by a multidisciplinary team is designed to help you live a healthy life, drug-free and regain confidence and happiness in life. You will work through personal issues, including mental health issues, and learn valuable tools to help you deal with adversities in the future.

You will be offered a bespoke aftercare plan also, which will be tailored to your personal needs. This may be composed of medical measures, follow-up counselling sessions, family sessions, or psychotherapeutic support groups or types of occupational therapy.

Our goal is to ensure that you are ready to face the world, without addiction, and succeed with your goals. Relapse can be largely preventable, which is why an aftercare plan will assist. Relapse, however, doesn’t mean failure.

Is Rehab Free in Scotland?

Rehabilitation comes in two forms. Private rehab and public rehab. Public rehab is government funded and is often found through NHS or public sector services. These services are free. However, they are low-level intensity and long waiting lists make this an unfavourable choice. Addiction can spiral quickly, and therefore immediate action must be taken. Public sector services may include counselling, AA meetings and local meetings. However, they do not have any free inpatient rehab.

Private rehab however, is not free. This is because it is incredibly successful, and is a full residential package, which includes world-renowned therapies and drug or alcohol detox. The prices may vary, but detox alone can cause anywhere between £2000 and £4000. If you stay longer, for at least 28 days to complete psychotherapies and counselling sessions, the cost will be roughly £12,000.

The good news is, however, that payment options do exist. You must remember that drug and alcohol rehab is an exceptional investment in your personal health. It could, in fact, save your life. Private rehab may be funded by personal insurance. Therefore it is important to talk to your provider and see what options are available to you. Private rehab has the highest success rates, therefore, we highly recommend chatting to us with any of your financial questions. We will be happy to assist.

Outpatient Rehab Treatments in Scotland

There are various outpatient rehab treatments available nationwide. It is known that many outpatient rehab treatments are free on the NHS, however, they are not known for their high success rates. They can however, provide you with some basic tools and knowledge, as well as a small network of support that could be a great starting point for you.

Outpatient rehab treatments may include counselling, group sessions, AA meetings, and online support groups, and you may remain independent throughout. These outpatient groups focus solely on giving you the initial steps to undertake an autonomous approach to rehab, with guidance and support on a much less intensive level than private rehab.

Continuing on with recovery under your own initiative is an important step, but we appreciate this is not always realistic. Drug detox, for example, must not be undertaken alone. It must be implemented in a strict medical setting, with a professional medical team. If your doctor or care provider believes that you need medical assistance you can access this. However, private rehab encapsulates all of the above, with some additional benefits.

Private Rehab

Long-term sobriety is best achieved through private rehab. The extensive knowledge, dedication to recovery and intensity of programmes are designed to help people succeed. You will not only have access to the best treatments available, such as CBT-led therapy (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), one-to-one counselling, art therapy, family sessions, self-help and holistic approaches, but you will also gain momentum in your life.

Private rehabs consist of a specialised team of people who are ready to help you build a network of support, whilst battling your demons, facing and healing your traumas, as well as giving you the opportunity to follow your goals in a safe setting.

Private rehab costs may vary, but the options to fund this are available. Investing in yourself is the best decision you will make. To succeed, stay healthy and remove addiction, a collaborative approach must be taken. The will to change will give you a new lease on life. You will have clarity, and most of all, motivation to continue your journey. At private rehab clinics such as ours at Nova Recovery, we want to make this a reality.
